Treat yourself

Anything can be made beautiful. S loves Trader Joes squash soup, which is just a little boring in my book for a complete meal. So, I think with all meals you glam them up, because your worth it, it provides a space in which you want to engage in stead of shovel food into your mouth to move onto the next thing. With interesting shapes and colored servers you can turn any meal into luxury. Our Anthropology bowls always do the trick and I say whenever you can add flowers DO!!!! You don't need a fancy event to break out the China, all you need is to care for yourself enough to set a table, sit down, relax, and have some great conversation with whomever you share your table with.

  1. I have to say, I completely agree with you here. Cooking at home is hardly a luxury for me, given my minimal culinary expertise, so I've also found myself trying to fancy things up a bit. As your pictures also suggest, one of my favorite tricks is to separate my food into different serving dishes, rather than piling everything onto one plate. Presentation is everything, after all, right? That said, your flower and event pictures are such an inspiration... keep it up!
